A single daily rate, agreed in advance and all-inclusive.
The number counsel is quoted covers the full standard day: nothing in it is billed separately. Only time beyond the eight-hour session is billed hourly.

Pre-mediation conferences are held with counsel for each side, and with counsel and their client where counsel agree it would help. Conferences and post-session follow-up are conducted remotely, by video or telephone.
Beyond the standard day
The standard daily rate covers up to four parties; a matter with more is quoted in advance. Time beyond the standard eight-hour session is billed hourly, and complex or out-of-area matters are quoted in advance as a single all-inclusive fee.
A deposit reserves the date (see the next open days), and the fee is divided equally between the sides of the dispute unless the parties agree otherwise. Full terms appear in the mediation engagement agreement.
WHAT I ASK OF COUNSEL
As little as the mediation allows.
One confidential position statement, to me alone and never exchanged. A recent brief or pleading will do.
One call before the day, at your convenience. What I need to know about the case, I ask there, not on a form.
Routine email to your assistant, with you copied, and a calendar invitation with the notice.
One number, quoted in advance, divided between the sides. Nothing is added for preparation, travel or follow-up.
